Phantom Carbon Shafts
Tuning Guide
  1. Cut to your normal arrow length
  2. Optional: allow one extra inch beyond normal length
  3. Check nock fit / improper fit causes poor grouping
  4. Use the screw-in inserts for your first six phantom carbons
  5. Begin with 75 gr field points + insert = 87 gr
  6. Test groups at 40 yds / record results
  7. Test 85 or 90 gr field points + insert = 97 or 102 gr/record
  8. Test 100 gr field points + insert = 112 gr
  9. Test 110 gr field points + insert = 122 gr
  10. Return to the point weight that, according to notes, groups the best
  11. Fine tune arrow rest, nocking point and draw weight.
  12. Paper testing may show slightly more nock-high than aluminum shafts
  13. Break off segments of the phantom bullets to match best grouping weight
or choose appropriate grain weighted insert points for the remainder of your shafts.
